How to keep music on?

This maybe a dump question, however I did lot of search but could not find any answer.

The question is, if I am listening to music then I poll over to wait for wife to pick up something, I am not going to run the engine so I turn it off, unfortunately the music is off as well. Is there any way that I can keep my music on when turn off the engine. I kinda missing the old day that I had a key turn starter......

Pretend your starting the car but don't put your foot on the brake.

If you quickly hit the Start button twice it turns the car off but the accessories stay ON.

Just push the start button once with your foot off the brake once the car is off. Press 2x after that to turn off.

This is the correct answer.
The music will not go off but the engine will.

Sweet... I had just been turning it off, then pushing the button again with my foot off the brake. Good info, thank you.

I <strike>You</strike> wouldn't want to sit in the G to listen to music today while the wife shops. At least not without the engine running.
It's 36C/95F (feels like 45C/111F with humidex scale)

Sorry for going waaaay OT. Your question was answered though

Yes, the 2 quick presses of the start button with the car running will turn off the engine and keep the car in ACC mode and the music will continue uninterrupted. I thought it was pretty cool when I learned this too.

Very cool, have to try it next time. But this got me thinking, besides the cool factor, are there any real advantages to have a big start button than traditional key ignition?

There's a huge downside though.. on just the 2nd day of owning my shining G, car sat in driveway with a dead battery just because I left the mode on ACC for a few hours with nothing running! Lesson learned, the hard way, I think I still miss the key.

First of all, you should have gotten a distinct audible and dash light warning when you opened the driver’s door while the button was set to ACC, whether anything was on or not. So that’s one advantage of keyless entry right there, i.e., saving your battery. Other advantages include not having to take out, insert and turn a key every time to start the car; the ability to open a door or trunk without a key if you’re nearby; a panic button on the fob that can help you find your car in a crowded parking lot, and better theft deterrent where a mere screwdriver applied to the steering column cannot be used to start the car.

The beep is so tiny if any, you will not notice it over tiniest background noise. It is loud chimes in my old Maxima when key is still in ignition, there's no way not being heard. Open a door or trunk without a key is not a new feature as you can still have a key with remote does just that, like my old Maxima. The same old Maxima has panic button too which I never used. And the Maxima has chipped key which does just that - no starting the car with a screwdriver. And.. mind you, my Maxima is 13 years old.

Well, not knowing what year or model you have, on my ’08 coupe the chime is as loud and noticeable as my old Maximas (I’ve had two of them), so perhaps you have a problem that can be fixed under warranty.

At any rate, keys for automobiles are on their way out. They will become as obsolete as vacuum tube radios, non-electric windshield wipers, carburetors, window cranks, bias-ply tires, and sticking your arm out a window to signal a turn.
