Hey everyone! I have a 2008 G37S (6mt obviously). Recently this exact issue has been happening and I need to figure out how to resolve it....

-accelerating down a road (typically happens when I'm driving up a hill)
-parking brake light becomes illuminated for a few seconds (no slowdown or anything like the brake is actually engaged tho)
-parking brake light goes off
-VDC off light turns on along with the SLIP light on the dash



I have figured out that if i stop accelerating as soon as I noticed the Brake light become illuminated the other 2 lights will not turn on.

Any ideas? I bought the car 1 year used with 9k miles on it so I should still be under my warranty. I'm just trying to get some idea of what the issue might be before I call the service department...

check your brake fluid, it's probably low.

 

even if it looks decently full, a little low on brake fluid will trip your light. especially if you go around turns or up a steeper hill

 

Yup! VDC/Brake/Slip lights all act as one unit. Brake fluid goes a bit low it will cause this. If it gets low enough all lights will stay on.

ok cool. thanks for the quick responses! I'll check the brake fluid later tonight. It sounds like that is most likely the issue since this only happens when I am accelerating up a hill.

is there any brake fluid in particular that is recommended?

 

brake fluid is low, just top it off. Bam. Happened to me few weeks ago
