I use Redline Water Wetter. I run a can of Seafoam through the fuel lines every year or so. I also use it in the upper cylinders and run it in the crank case about every 4th or 5th oil change.

Seafom, good stuff!!

As mine is no a DD, only a weekend warrior.
I need to run Startron here in Cali, as the gas is 10% ethanol.
You should see what it did to my boats fuel system.

Yes, seafoam is a great product. Going to add water wetter to mine when it's time for a coolant change.

one question. i was on seafoam website and it seems like the motor treatment is what you would use for both fuel treatment & upper cylinder or did i miss a product?

thanks

Is seafoam safe to use? It always makes me leery adding additives to any parts of my car. I've had bead experiences with Heet and other fuel system "cleaners".

Nope, same stuff. One product can be used for fuel tank, upper cylinders, and crank case. Check Youtube for videos from Seafoam and directions on how to use it.

I believe it is. It is 100% petroleum based, no solvents at all. I've used it on multiple cars including my '96 Maxima with over 220K trouble free miles with no issues. I've used it in all 3 locatios above on my G at 30K miles or so and I'm at 76K now. No issues thus far. I'll use it again soon.

I started adding some RedLine SI-1 Fuel Injector System Cleaner to the gas thinking that maybe it will help the throttle body from getting dirty and causing irregular idling.

Anyone know if this would help? Or am I just wasting my money?

todays gasoline has plenty of cleaners...engine oils are also engineered to clean and protect...oil additives do nothing positive and actually hinder the performance of the oil by foaming up, creating air bubbles, and increasing heat...bobistheoilguy has an article somewhere on this topic (that's where I am paraphrasing the info from)

The throttle body has to be manually cleaned, as it is upstream of the injectors. Isn't it?

To put it simply, if you use Top Tier gas, you'll be fine.
