What my dealer does for the 30K service

I took my car in for an oil change today 28.1k miles, and asked what the 30k service entails since I won't need an oil change. This is the list of things he told me they look do:

Change Engine Filters
Change Cabin Filter
Change Wiper Blades
Change Oil
Change PCV Valve
Change Coolant
Change Differential Oil
Change Transmission Oil
Clean Throttle Bodies

I dont know what they charge for the whole thing, but since I've already done the first 4 things, I asked what the rest were, and he said the flushes are $159 each, and the Throttle body cleaning is $50. and PCV valve is like $25 or so.

My question is, what do I really need to do? I think Transmission is pretty important, but I'm not sure about the rest. I bought the car used so I dont know how the previous owner treated the car. Should I just get it all done? Advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, the Engine Air filters for the Stock Air boxes. I can change those myself in like 30 seconds.

How much are they charging you for the service VIP? I am planning to do mine with Beshoff Inf and I have about 37k miles on it.

From what I can tell, you should

1. Change the oil and filter (as needed) and get whatever lube and fluid changes go along with that general service.
2. Change the engine air filter.
3. Change the cabin air filterYouTube - Cabin air filter replacement- Infiniti G37
4. Give the vehicle a good general inspection.

Check your service schedule.

I am getting my state inspection and oil changed tomorrow morning at the corner mechanic that works on my truck. I was going to have them change my filters, too, but it looks so easy I might do it myself.

My dealer wanted over $500 for my 30k service. Until now, they have done everything -- including my oil changes. That ends tomorrow.

I didn't get a quote for everything, but since the flushes are $160 each, I'm thinking they will charge at least around 700.

I think $500 sounds reasonable but heard they are charging $600+..

a combo of doing some of the easy 30k items yourself (air filter, cabin filter, wipers, clean throttle bodies) and then taking your G to an independent shop will save you a ton of cash. those DIY items i mentioned require essentially no tools or mechanical skill and can all be done in less than 1hr combined. buy the parts online and save even more.

I can't believe they recommend a coolant change at 30,000k. Come on really ! I've been driving cars for 37yrs and never changed the coolant before 60,000k or 5 yrs. I also see they want the tranny fluid at 30,000k and yet every 4 wheel drive I've owned suggests changing it at 80,000k and they expect the trucks to be worked.

Hell the G's are a mid luxury car not a 4 wheel drive towing machine...

I've drove nissans 200,000k without a change of tranny fluid and no problems... whats with these dealers ? OMG

Can't wait for spring to do the maintenance myself in the driveway.

I just want to know if Nissan will ever add a maintenance interval for the 7AT? I'm usually all for changing coolant and transmission at 60k...
