Arrow Gas Cap = Service Engine Light?

So about a week ago my service engine light came on & then went off for two days and came back on. I had no clue why it came on & especially had no idea why it went off then on agian so I scheduled an appt with pepe infiniti in westchester. BTW ive been always up to date with all my maitiance.

This past thursday @ 10:00 am I brought my car in for service. I told them to fix my window (when I hit auto it comes down 1/4 of the way), check out my tires because on the front two tires the inner thread was wearing much faster then the rest of the tire (prob due to my alignment being a bit off just wanted to make sure), and my service engine light.

They tell me it should be ready for pick up by 4:00pm, I get the call @ 5:30 thursday and they say its going to be ready for pick up friday. Get the call today, its going to be monday because of the following :

1. My gas cap was the reason why my service engine light was on..really? So they ordered me a new one.
2. They had to order new parts to fix my window..(wierd because I thought they would just reset the battery or something but w.e)

So now its monday. I do have a loaner but they better not hit me over the head for $10.00 a day for gas.

Anybody ever get this gas cap problem, or parts needed to solve the window issue?

BTW g37x Sedan is far improved from the g35x sedan.. no peddle lag ftw.

The gas cap has been know to cause a CEL with a few cars. Something to do with it not sealing completly or something like that. One member was having problems with it for a while, but that was quite a while ago. As far as the window issue, haven't really heard anything of the sort.

Emissions inspection in TX requires a test be performed to ensure the gas cap will hold a certain amount of pressure. If it won't hold pressure, it does cause a CEL so they weren't BSing you about that. Please post up what the window problem was once you get the car back.

did they do the window reset.this would be casued from 1 of 2 things.1 if the battery was diconnected, they lost memory.solution hold both switches down for 15 sec up for 15 sec.and down again.if does not work, you have a bad window regulator.

check engine lite

my g-35 had problems with window regulators (both sides), same symptom within 6 months of each other. My 08 G37 check engine lite on 1 week after I picked it up (gas cap) bad seal. Gas tank has a pressure sensor on it and it will run the evaporative monitor ( a system self check) that will make sure that you are not leaking HC's hydrocarbons..gas cap has to seal correctly or else pressure will not hold during test...doesn't hold lite comes on.
