So I've read through all the oil threads here on the forum and haven't been able to find an answer. I did my first oil change back in Aug 08 at 3000 miles at Glendale Infiniti where I bought my car, but it was free and I'm not sure what oil they used and when I called the service guy that answered the phone he didn't want to answer my question. He kept telling me to "just bring it in". Anyways, Santa Monica Infiniti is a lot more convenient for me as it is like a block from where I work. So I called Santa Monica, he tells me that the Nissan Ester Oil is the oil that comes with the G37 from the factory and is what he "recommends".

If the G comes with Ester stock, this is the first time I've heard of it, is he pulling my chain to get me to cough up the 100 bucks for the special Ester Oil change? Once you go Ester, there is no going back to regular oil, correct? The guy didn't warn me after I told him I just wanted regular oil. Can they tell which type of oil was used in the first oil change?

I'm about 90% sure our cars don't come with Ester... He might be right but I think he doesn't know... But yeah, $100 for an oil change is pretty nuts... Get either Eneos 5W-30 or Motul V300... It would be a cheaper and better alternative...

I'm personally running Eneos and have ZERO complaints... No VVEL issues or anything... PM Lou@Amplified.. I know he has Eneos in stock and might be able to hook you up with a good price for an Oil Change if needed...
