Tell me where is actually says that it is a fully synthetic motor oil. Even they bottle says "Synthetic" while the others say "Fully Synthetic" It is a syn blend, hence why it is cheaper.

The Euro limited oils have a Fully synthec 5w-30 but not in the US. Anyone who tells you that this is a fully synthetic motor oil is WRONG.

IMO Eneos is just an imported version of Mobil 1. Research the company at www.eneos.co.jp/english

 

I was told when I ordered it that it is fully synthetic. I've found numerous sources that say it is fully synthetic, but after your post I've searched around found just as many that say semi synthetic.

Since I've already got it, I'll be using it and seeing how well it holds up.

 

You got lied to, by someone that was trying to sell you something. I am not saying Eneos is not a bad oil cause I have never used it. I am merely saying it is not what people want it to be, which is fully synthetic.

It is still much better that putting conventional oil in your car and still a good investment.

 

I don't know if I was lied to or just that they didn't know it's not fully synthetic. Everything I could find agrees that some of the grades of Eneos (0W50 for example) is fully synthetic. Half of what I found on the 5W30 said fully synthetic, half said semi.

 

Every other Eneos oil is 100% synthetic and they say it in their description. Only the 5w-30 is semi. There is a Euro blend that is sythetic that I found but it looks completely different. The companies that say the US 5w-30 formula is 100% synthetic are wrong.

Everywhere I look it seems Eneos 5W-30 is not a fully synthetic oil. It still gives plenty of protection for your engine, so it's not that big of a deal to me.

 

Okay guys, everyone is talking about Mobil 1, Eneos or Royal Purple...but I got a question, does anyone use Amsoil? and If so, what type...thank you...I got Amsoil in my Altima and the engine is running great 75k, I actually feel the difference...

 

Amsoil is a fantastic synthetic oil and you can't go wrong with it. If it's running well in your Altima, then it'll likely do just fine in your G. But with as new as your G is, I don't know that Amsoil is needed. If you're doing regular oil change intervals of 3750, you could use regular Pennzoil yellow bottle 5w30 conventional oil and have a squeaky clean engine. If you wanted synthetic, you could use Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum.

Synthetics are supposed to extend your oil change interval. If you run an oil change over 7500 miles (which is the maximum mileage you can run before an oil change is required to maintain your warranty with Infiniti), you're gonna be S.O.L. if you have an engine failure due to lack of lubrication or some other oil related failure. Infiniti will see your lack of service records and hand you a bill for $6800 for a new engine (and that's before labor costs).

So, long story short.....while you are in your warranty period, don't do ultra-long drain intervals to be safe even if you're using a high quality synthetic like Amsoil. Infiniti doesn't give a flying f*ck if you're using Motorcraft, Pennzoil, or Amsoil and you go past the recommended service interval and your engine craps out for some oil-related reason.

If you wanna use synthetic, go for a cheaper synthetic like Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum. Much more economical for regular oil change intervals!

Well if you're going to maintain your warranty with Infiniti, you can play it safe and run an OCI of 3750mi like the manual recommends, but with a decent synthetic like Mobil 1 (my preference is Pennzoil Platinum which I run in my Jeep and will be putting in my G at its next oil change), you should easily be able to run 5000-7500miles. No more than 7500 to maintain your warranty. I'd say 5000 is a good number (simply because it's incredibly easy to remember) and it's well within the "warranty range" for service. Statistically though, either one of those synthetics should be able to hit 7500 miles EASY.
