What is the stock gear ratio on these G37's? And is it ever changed out to something different?

Second Gear Ratio (:1) ------------------ 2.35
Third Gear Ratio (:1) ------------------- 1.52
Fourth Gear Rato (:1) ------------------- 1.00
Fifth Gear Ratio (:1) ------------------- 0.84
Reverse Ratio (:1) ---------------------- 2.76

I'm talking about the rear differential or "Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD)". I searched this site and nobody talks about swapping out to a steeper gear set. I think I read 3.69 somewhere but I can't confirm it.

Is changing out the rear gears not done on these cars?

Are there aftermarket gear sets out there?

 

I havent seen anything on this forum yet but give it sometime
vendors are still having troubles coming up with a proper intake (which is a pipe and filter lol) for our cars

 

I hear you there. And I'm asking this because I honestly have no clue, but does the G37 share the same rearend with anything else?

I'm just researching. I don't even have a G37, but the girl that lives with me just picked up herself one. She's in Texas with it now and she'll be bringing it up here later this month. It will stay with me and I've been looking at what we'd like to do to it. Gears are not on the list by the way, but searching this forum I haven't even read where anyone has even mentioned them. I'm way behind on this type of car so I've been reading and searching for the last couple weeks.
I already have a pretty good list started for mods.

I'm trying to get her on here. The mods are going to concentrate on exterior, interior and maybe some suspension. Since it's her car I'll stay away from the drivetrain the best I can. I'll try and talk her into an exhaust though.

 

yeah forget about messing with the drivetrain.. she will def. need an exhaust! stock sucks right?
