I love the whole iPod connection and everything in the car, but does anyone know how to scroll through songs or artists quicker? For example, i have 500 different artists, if I want to listen to Tech N9ne, i gotta hold the down arrow button for about 5 minutes until it reaches T. So if anyone knows an easier way id appreciate it if you shared.

 

This has been discussed before. Please do a search. The best solution that someone came up with is to create play-list based on Artists. Play-list "A" will have all artist that begin with A or you could do an A-C play-list with artist that have names that begin with A, B, or C. This is the best way. No one has come up with a better way. The three ways to scroll thru the artist as you might know are the buttons on the console/wheel, the turn wheel on the center console, and the arrows on the touch screen. The arrows work the fastest because they skip pages instead of skipping songs. The wheel on the center console would be the second fastest, IMO.

 

also if you are going to a artist at the end of the alphabet such as Tech n9ne as your said, you can go backwards..(go up instead of down) thus traveling through the artists from Z to A.

 

Actually, im pretty sure you CANNOT do this...

If you go to your first artist, and go UP, it will NOT go to an artist starting with Z...

 

yea, you cant go backwards through the list, ive cursed many a times trying this

Actually playlists are not the best solution. When you use playlists it dumps every song by the 'A' artists into one big list, and usually not in order.

If you change the genre to the first letter of the artist it retains the artist > album > song hierarchy. Makes things much easier. Unless of course you have some use for the original genres....
