So i removed the emblems and adhesive but the emblems left an imprint in my trunk and i want to know if anyone else had this problem and what they did to fix it. Im thinking of buffing it or wet sanding then buffing it.

 

The paint is faded in the areas around where the emblems resided, so I don't think buffing the clearcoat will help.

Does anybody think wetsanding then buffing would make it smooth?

 

My advice: Start with the least abrasive solution first. If it doesn't work, step up to a slightly more abrasive solution.

In your case, I advise you to start with a claybar and some detailing spray. If you do not see the expected results, move up to a light polish. You can then move up to a heavier polish but remember you will need to follow it with a light polish before you stop and wax the area well.

If none of the above works to your satisfaction, perhaps a wetsand will be in order, but at that point I would consult with a professional detailer before I did anything else.
