Howdy doody, I have been seeing it is easy to add a back view camera to the G37 that doesn’t have one preinstalled.

I was wondering if it’s possible to add side view cams to my G37 as well.

Is it possible to have them recording as well? I have an apartment neighbor, don’t know who it is that has been keying my car and making dents on it.

Technically and theoretically, you could add the JDM side-view mirror camera, however, it would only be for the left (driver-side) as it serves as a parking aid for RHD cars. Plus, there is no guarantee that the USDM software would be able to display the side image. Also, there is no OEM ability to record video. Years ago I toyed with the idea of adding the AVM (Around View Monitor) from the E/FX37 to the G but lost interest.

You would be better suited to get a standalone camera ("GoPro") setup that you could position where needed and, preferably, run independent of the cars electrics.

Does your apartment complex not have any surveillance cameras?

 

Makes sense. The thing is we are not allowed to set surveillance cameras besides the doorbell ones. They also cannot be on an angle. The other problem is the parking spaces aren’t reserved so I park far from my door at times.

I just compared grocery store carts to the dents and they don’t match. I see new paint scratches and dents every other day.

i hope a go pro will be enough to capture what’s going on.
