Code P0128 Question

Hi,

Recently picked up a 2008 G35 sedan. After a few days, got a CEL. I only found code P0128.

I plan to replace:
1) coolant temp sensor;
2) thermostat;
3) air intake sensor; and
4) z1 coolant bleeder.

But, when I tested the heater, it blows freaking HOT and I don't know to replace the above if I don't have to.

Do you think that maybe that the coolant tank just needs a proper bleeding??? The seller told me he replaced the thermostat recently (if this is real or not, I can't confirm).

TIA

Hmmm, my car doesn't have a coolant bleeder ???

Is this a bleeder delete or something else here???

IIRC there isnt an OEM bleeder on the G35, definitely not one on the G37. You can get a coupler from Z1 that has a bleeder in it. Just loosen those two clamps and pull out the pastic piece and install the replacement from Z1, then bleed out the system.

And it looks a lot like there is leak at the coupler which could be causing your problem (leak is evident from all the staining around the plastic coupler)

I thought all G35s had the plastic bleeder that everyone talking about on the forums. Good to know.

I guess I'll start with the Z1 bleeder and do a proper bleed, then move on from there. Hopefully I don't get the bothersome CEL.

Thanks!
