Hi everyone,
my car has been running great up until a few days ago where I started my car normally, started driving and when I came to a red light, my engine shut off. All of the interior lights were on and it was as if it was in the setting before powering your car with all the accessory lights on. My car was in drive but off. I put it in park and turned it on and it was fine until I stopped again and turned off the same way. This time trying to turn it on caused the car to make a weird noise. After a while it turned on. I tried to get it home and I would have to rev it so it wouldn’t turn off and would make a weird noise still when driving. At red lights I had to put it in neutral and rev it. The check engine light has not turned on at all so when plugging in the machine, there are no codes. My car randomly started doing this and I am wondering if it has happened to anyone.

 

I wonder if it's your torque converter or transmission going out. When my torque converter went my trans was acting a litte funny for a few days then one day i drove maybe 100 feet then car just cut off on me when I was coming to a stop. Would turn back on but when I put it in gear it would cut off again. Had to put in gear and give it gas real quick to get moving. Let it sit for a bit then waited till night time with no traffic to drive it 17 miles to the dealer. Drove there fine as it was all highway then maybe 200 feet before I get there i hit a red light and it cut off again. And mine had a strange noise too when this happened. No codes either. I would guess maybe a vacumn leak also but that would usually throw a code.

 

Definitely sounds like the torque converter clutch is not unlocking when coming to a stop.
