What Nissan paddle shifters are compatible with a G37?
So I work at a Nissan dealership and want to get paddle shifters with my parts discount but they can’t search up infiniti paddle shifters in their system. I’ve heard some Nissan ones will work but which ones are compatible? What vehicle makes and years, or what ones have worked best for everyone else?
I could be very mistaken but even with your discount it’ll still probably be cheaper to buy them used online. You need more than just the paddle shifters. You also need the steering wheel trim for paddle shifters

The part number for the paddle shifters is: 25549-JK000 (should be the black leather ones) I believe, this are the magnesium style ones with leather trim. They came in different color leather trims, I think there is gray one, etc.
You can get them from Amayama or Partsouq cheaper than most dealers or sellers brand new.
First and foremost, check to make sure your car is pre-wired as this will determine what path you need to take. Pull the shrouds from the column and look for the two white connectors. You will have to do this anyway to replace the lower shroud.
Pre-wired? Great. Hit up eBay, grab a cheap set of paddles, the lower shroud and install them.
Not pre-wired? Then you will have to source the two connectors and run wiring from the paddles to the meter amp in the center console. There are plenty of threads on this topic (Thread 1). For most, a quick trip to the local "pull-a-part" junkyard would be in order, however, being that you work at the Nissan dealership, I am sure the Tech-Mate HRK supply bin will have both connectors and the wire terminal/ pigtails you would need.
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES would I recommend you buying a new kit from the dealer regardless of your "discount." There are far too many inexpensive options out there. And, if you are NOT pre-wired, you will still have the hassle of getting the wiring sorted.

I pay 5% more than what the dealer would pay for the parts, what inexpensive options are there? They all seem minimum a few hundred. If I’m pre wired all I need is the paddles technically right? And the trim piece could come later
There are plenty on eBay for around $100 or so, some with pigtails, ($75 Paddles/ Maxima). If you are active with that facebook nonsense I am sure there are plenty for sale on that marketplace. Plus, there are tons available sitting in junkyards. With enough searching you can find them. I am just pointing out options. Even at 5% over cost, you're still looking at a few hundred I'm sure. Too overpriced (IMO) for what they really are: simple switches.
But, hey, it is your money, spend it as you will..
If you are pre-wired all you need are the paddles and the shroud. Both have to be installed at the same time. Your existing lower shroud will not fit with the paddles installed.

Yeah I agree with ILM 100%. But like he said,it’s your hard earned money and you’ve earned the right to spend it how you please. But at the end of the day even with your dealer discount getting everything you need for this will be way cheaper then then the dealer.
like you I plan on getting the paddle shifters, but I will not get them from the dealer. Nothing wrong with getting a used one. Not like it’s a used sex toy

I would still recommend you try a local "pull-a-part" facility if you have one locally.

Can someone please @ILM-NC G37S ?? do a where used search to find what years and models of Nissan/Infiniti have the compatible paddle shifters?
I really wish someone could explain to me why these damn paddles are so popular... I never used the G37 originals and even with the swap to the Q60 steering wheel with the wheel-mounted paddles I still never use them.
Maybe its me...
That said, again, ANY NISSAN (≈2008-2015'ish) column-mounted paddle should be a direct bolt-on to the column. Folks have said that paddles from the Altima, Maxima, GT-R as well as other Infiniti models will fit. Nissan loves to recycle parts and the steering column isn't much different across the two lines. The wiring connectors may be different but if you are sourcing from a pull-a-part yard you would cut the pigtails anyway. THREE SIMPLE WIRES is all it takes: two to the amp and one to ground- usually to bare metal on the steering column itself.
The real issue is not so much the paddles but the damn shrouds... They are harder to source than the paddles are it seems.

@ILM-NC G37S I gave it to my son and he found out you can retrofit and we went and got two sets. It's a father son install thing. I may have one set (tan/no, trim) for sale. I rarely use them in my new car which has a DCT AND I track it! It's awesome.
It's not really about performance, it's all about engagement, and fun. No, scratch that. It's about about pretending to be doing something engaging and fun. Or at the very least, being about to talk about it.
Again, I'd still do it too if I owned a non-Sport G, because it's something to do, and there's nothing wrong with that.
It just seems that everyone makes such a big deal about these paddles... Even the BMW dealership is making a big deal about the paddles on a Z4 I am looking at.. A selling point, a gimmick, who knows. To each their own...
