Got my kids a Civic Si, but my son liked my 6M G37 more than the Honda. He asked to take it on the 1st day of school, was rear- ended by a teacher, and was totaled so now I need to replace my favorite car after almost 200K miles!!
I'm budgeting approximately $75K.
My current wishlist in order of preference:
GT-R ( used)
CT4-V Blackwing manual
Gulia Quadrifoglio (slightly over-budget and no manual?)
M3
Supra manual
I was excited about the new Z but every week the reviews get worse.

Reason: Spelling
Good crash if your kid walked away injury free. Assuming he has classes with said teacher, should be A's for life. Wasn't a driver's ed teacher that hit him?
Was there frame damage of some sort? Appearance wise it doesn't look too severe? Buy back repair and give it to your son.
I'd get the Z. Reviews be damned have you seen the friggin after market coming out for that thing? Easily going to be the best looking of all of those when you consider the aero. If you care about performance then plenty of the others have it beat. I am a long time Supra fan and have had many but the MK5 just doesn't do it for me, even with a 3rd pedal. Toyota has lost it's heart with these colabs. Maybe I just don't care about performance as much in my old age.
Bummer on the totaled G. Test driving and looking for a new and fun car sounds like a lot of fun.
My 0.02, ignore the reviews, test drive a lot of cars, and buy what you like. Specifically on the Z, it seems a lot of reviewers complain that it is built on the same platform as the 350/370 Z. Personally, I find this stupid. I don't care the age of the platform or the carry over of parts, I care about how the car feels to drive and how well it fits me.
Edit: Personally, on paper and in photos, I like the CT4-V Blackwing. I must be getting old, as I don't think I have ever wanted a Caddy.

There was some frame damage. Trunk was buckled and the exhaust had been pushed forward. My son has his '20 Si that I've been using.

Same, haha but the Caddy is a good value. We don't need a sedan any more but I prefer 4 doors now.
