how about a reflective safety vest in case you have to make repairs on the side of the road
This is 'Murica, for heaven's sake. We wear all-dark clothes doing roadside repairs on unlit country lanes and WE LIKE IT.
// I know Europe requires vest and reflective cone/triangle. Probably Canada too.
/// I always carry actual safety flares - they're useful for many things.
Amazon has similar things for a range of prices too.
Edited to add: a collapsible 4-way lug wrench is also a good investment of size vs utility. I need to get one... my fullsize 4-way slides around if the trunk is empty lol.
Re: Elevation - I spent a week in Sapphire Valley NC with the extended fam and we dipped into SC and GA out looking for waterfalls. Hit some pretty high peaks. Barely noticeable performance loss, especially considering I had 4 adults and a kid in the car.
nice! thats good to know...Im ok with powerloss, as this is a scenic type of trip and when plotting the route from FL on Waze..wow, so many cops on the way up...it seems +5 over and that will be it for me, so mountains or not, im ok with some powerloss lol

LOL...or camo...anything to be less obtrusive and alert the oncoming traffic
^^Visited the smokey mountain area several times some years past. I remember the car lacking power going up the hills. Of course it depends what gear/rpm. I was likely in the midrange range (3-5K). If you're in the upper end the experience is likely different. Are you tuned? Mine was stock.
besides an upgr8 filter...dont ask, i got it on Amazon because another poster some years ago and dont really notice anything really..sound or HP, but I'm stock
You will be fine if you are taking the highway/interstates. The only time my g37 scared me was being stuck behind a car going up the mountain at 10mph for 2 hours. My gear became "stuck".

we just did charlotte to Tampa (Treasure Island to be exact) and I saw a few cops, even fewer actually running radar. I set the cruise at +15-17 and was on the slow side of faster moving traffic.
So took the car for a pre trip check and all looks good , but of course they pointed out issues, such as rear diff bushing being blown, but i did the motorvatediy epoxy fill and so far it seems to be a decent temp solution so not too concerned for now... but besides that, they mentioned my rear axle seals are leaking and I don't experience any clunking or vibration type issues, but just wondering if thats a concern for such a trip? Best pic they had

nice ..15+ is a sweet spot for eating miles without getting in trouble... did you do a straight drive or stop over ? I'm in a similar route but most likely will be stopping in Augusta or Savanna, havent quite finalized the route yet

Straight drive. Going down sucked, hoped to make it in 9.5 hours as per GPS. Took a little over 11. Going back took 10--not as bad. At 15 over the only things I passed on 301 were semis, but I figured the guy with out of state plates would be the first to get pinched in those small towns. We actually tried to tack on a couple nights in Savanna on the way back, but the kennel was booked so we couldn't extend our dogs stay.
Crazy how minor accidents, or in one case, an accident in the opposite direction can add so much time.

thanks and wow! OK, not bad on time actually for either way (easier said when sitting at home on my PC lol) and no pet, so locations wont be so much of an issue...but yeah, rubber necks, they become the new hwy menace on opposite lanes!
