Does anyone know what this yellow plug is supposed to be to ?(yes i know its ruined at this point) its been hanging there for about a year , a mechanic I took it to a while back I asked about it and he said it went to nothing , but I doubt Infiniti would make a cord that goes to nothing that scrapes on the fan belt so im just checkin , if it goes to something important i'll just have it rewired but I cant think of what .
Not sure if this is any better , the other wire that it splits from goes to the fan module , and yes it just hangs there , I have it under the air filter so it doesnt scrape anything but I first noticed about a year ago because i heard a scraping noise and when I looked it was this cord on the fan belt half scraped off , when I was getting my thermostat changed like a couple weeks later I asked the mechanic about it but he said it didnt go to anything so I kinda just forgot about it
What color are the two (2) wires? I am 99% certain that is for the crash sensor.
What is the history of your car, if known?
The color of the other wire thag goes to the fan module is gray, theres only one other wire attatched to this , it comes from the wiring harness and splits to the grey one then this yellow one , and the car was in a accident before i bought it , airbag lights are on still
Well there you go... That is why the light is on. The crash sensor is disconnected.
What year is your sedan?
Only concerned with the connector. There should be two wires going into that yellow connector unless they were "ripped off" in the collision. In that case you would have to trace up the harness to find the breaks and run new wire. It would probably be easier to get a replacement pigtail and splice that in.
