Akkon Headlight Housing LED Upgrades

Making this post to help others if they want to upgrade the halogen bulbs that come with the Akkon headlight assemblies. These housings I would say are pretty good quality and are made in Taiwan. They have a "look" somewhat of the Nissan GTR headlights. These headlight housings for the Sedan have a DRL LED strip, side marker LED with 3x projector lenses total per housing (Might be 2X per housing I honestly couldn't tell for the Low beam). For the High beam bulbs you will need H7 type bulbs. I went with the "LASFIT L1 Plus H7 LED Bulbs 40W" kit. These are passively cooled LED's so there is no massive heatsink or fan on the end. For the Low beam I went again with the "LASFIT Pro D2S" kit made specifically for the G37. These come with ballasts and the bulbs. These fit without issue into the Akkon housings. The Akkon housing come without threaded holes to secure the ballast. I used #10 self tapping screws that were 1/2" long, with a split point to help center the screw when threading. This screw size works perfectly to secure the ballasts. I used brand new ballast O-Rings as well. For the Low beam bulbs you want to have the "scoop" on the LED facing up as seen in the photo below. This low beam LED gets projected into 2x lenses. For the turn signal bulb I used the "LASFIT 7440 7441 W21W WY21W CANBUS Anti Hyper Flash bulbs" (super bright!).

I'm confused. So why would you go from HID to led? Hid's are brighter. I did switch out my high beams like you did to led but what was the purpose of you spending extra money to get the led low beams?

I used the kit on my original housings and liked it so I used it on the Akkon housings. Not claiming the LED ones are brighter.
