help me pick a caliper color

Powdered coated the wheels and I can't decide on a caliper color for the akebonos. What color would you do? I'm thinking purple 🤔

Metallic yellow. As in, Acura's Rio Yellow Pearl, from the old NSX and the Honda S2000.

However, the more you stare and compare at your wheels & brakes, the more your OEM ride height is going to worm its way into your brain and make you nuts.

Pay homage to the G35 sport coupe and go with Brembo gold

And also let me suggest replacing your chrome center caps with gunmetal or back ones (and please let me know where you got them, since I’ve been looking for years...).

Ive had my eye on some gold colors as well. Almost everyone says red, though. But I've done red and blue already in the past, so purple sounded fun. The caps will be a color match to the gun metal. I'm actually able to powder coat the caps to be a perfect match. Just haven't done it yet. Also, lug nuts will be black. Should have a cleaner look when I get that done.

^OEM center caps are plastic, so guess you mean spray paint? Or have you found metal center caps to powder coat?

Either way, imagine it’ll be tough to mask off the Fuji logo, unless you’re good with a monochrome paint job.

Might just end up swapping mine out with black Nissan center caps, which are readily available...

Heat gun gets the job done believe it or not. You just can't put the emblem in the actual oven.

I feel like hot pink calipers would look great on your current build

Hey op, it looks like you went gunmetal. Would you by any chance have the paint code or exact specific catalog name for that gray? Thanks

Hey, this color is Kingsport Grey by Prismatic Powders.

Here is a link to the website of the product: https://www.prismaticpowders.com/sho...kingsport-grey

You can also go to the gallery and see different applications and finishes of the color

Been playing more with wheels and color combos. These are the g35 rays, one of my favorite wheels. So I went with a matte bronze for the hell of it. Went purple with the akebonos as you can see here. Looked good with the gun metal wheels but doesn't match anymore. Theyll be yellow sooner or later once I stop being lazy about it

I can see the struggle. A gray car is the ultimate canvas for caliper color.
My rule is to pay attention at the interior as well as other parts I'm interested in the future to start matching.
Navy/Sonic/Metallic blue is one
Copper/Bronze/Gold is another
Red/metallic red/orange would be my last choice.

Your best bet is to take a good side pick of your car then start editing it online for the color of your choice.

Not trying to thread jack but just trying to tag along. I also have a set of Akebonos that will be sent off for powder coat soon, possibly within the next month. Any suggestions on caliper color? I was thinking Illusion Royal Blue. https://www.prismaticpowders.com/sho...illusion-royal

Great minds think alike

Just a note with that blue. It's a pretty deep blue and once on the car, it will look somewhat dark. The illusion blueberry is a lighter blue and will stand out more. of course, that's a personal preference thing. Truth is, with your colors, you can literally put any color you want on there. The photo below is the brembos with illusion blueberry. So expect to the Royal to be a decent bit darker. Personally, I've always liked calipers to pop behind a darker wheel. But you really cant pick a wrong color here

Thank you for the example, In the past I've done red on a black car and black on a red car, that's why I wanted to try a blue for this one. I've had some color sample swatches but was still on the fence, I'll get few more and include the blueberry. My goal is an OEM+ look, so not TOO flashy but something more than silver or black.

+1 for Brembo gold.

I've got red calipers on a black car, and I like that over my other options, but were my car a different color red would have been my last choice.
