Low-key catback for the X sedan

Edit: Looks like the rot is isolate ftp the Y-pipe, so I'm going to start another thread

So, I'm pretty sure my factory exhaust is rotting out as it just got real loud. Should the mechanic confirm this and it isn't easily fixable with some welding, I usually use tese things as an opportunity to upgrade to a nice aftermarket exhaust as I doubt anything is more expensive than replacing it with a factory one.

Anyone have a lead on a catback that will keep things relatively quiet? I don't minds some rumble at WOT, but I'm my experience I've never met a loud V6 that didn't sound silly.

I wanted close to stock sound unless I got on it as well.

Tanabe achieves this. Only adds slight low tones to moderate acceleration.
Cruising is basically same as stock.

I added FI RHFC cats and now I feel my tones are perfect.
Almost stock while cruising, however just a hint of additional low end to take notice.
And noticeably louder than stock once moderate to aggressive throttle is applied.

I can see you're a person of good culture.

Maybe just find out which part is broken and replace that section with a stock replacement?

Alright, just got a report back from the mechanic that the rot seems isolated to the Y-pipe segment. Anyone have a lead on something reasonable in 304 stainless? OEM Y-pipe is nearly $700 so that's a no go. Mechanic says he can get a walker aftermarket Y-pipe in today but agrees with me that aluminized parts will have me fixing it again in 2 years given the road salt situation in SEPA. He says it's not at risk of falling off and said he was cool if I had the part I wanted drop shipped to his garage

check eBay and the FS sections. There's always someone selling this stuff.

Granted, the car has 100k, but the rust on the factory exhaust, especially the bolts and flanges looks significant (y pipe seems to have failed just south of the flange). I run my cars into the ground so I'm probably gonna skip a used OEM Y and find something in 304 stainless.

Anyone have input on the Megan Racing Y-pipe? 304 stainless, priced right, just need to make sure it will bolt on to the X without any fitment issues. To quote my mechanic, "sure, send me whatever part you want, just make sure it fits unless you want to drive home with open pipes."
