Anybody know what this plastic tray is?

Anybody know what this is? Is it just a belly pan or something more important? Buying a stillen 370z exhaust to mount to my g37x sedan. I have to do some custom stuff to make it fit but if i don’t necessarily need this, i shouldnt have to modify the mufflers too much.

Anybody know what this is? Is it just a belly pan or something more important? Im buying a 370z stillen exhaust to mount to my g37x sedan. I obviously have to do a lot of custom stuff to make it fit but if this peice isnt entirely necessary and is just a belly pan i can remove it and mount the mufflers no problem. If its a needed part i have to essentially re design, cut and weld the mufflers to tit properly. Any and all advice appreciated

That is the rear plastic diffuser on the sedan. Upon removing you'll see that underneath it there is the body of the car. More specifically the underside of the spare hole.
Even if you were to remove this piece you would have to cut the frame of the car to get the muffling section of the exhaust to fit.
The exhaust only works on coupes unless you're into cutting the body of the car to fit an exhaust.

Ad Bull mentioned, it's just a diffuser/skid-plate of sorts so you really won't gain much leeway by removing it. The coupe/370Z exhaust is in a different configuration in the rear, as you've found out. If you're dead set on using that exhaust you'll probably have to bring it to a local custom shop and have them modify it to fit your sedan. Really shouldn't cost too much. I had a full custom Y-back done for $300 so just modifying the angles and clearance of the axleback portion shouldn't be much at all. Maybe $100-150?
