Newb question about a motor swap

Replacing my motor and I see a qx50 engine with 20k for a great price. Would this be a direct drop in to my g37? It’s an AWD 3.7 motor. My sedan is obviously awd.

Should drop in no problem. Might need to use a few things from the donor motor such as starter and other bits but should be a direct replacement.

I was concerned that I’d have to do a bunch of modifications.

Motor swap

Hellooo, glad this is relatively new , does anyone have any information if a 2016-2017 Nissan 370Z motor would swap into a 2010 G37? Would there be any reason why it wouldn’t work? I’m being told because the Vin# is off by 1 letter the swap would not work...😓😓

Same 3.7 that is in the G. No reason it wouldn't drop right in; unless you have an X. Even then, it's simply swapping parts from the donor motor to make it work.

Following up - was the Z a 6MT and you have a 7AT? Not sure how much the bell housings might differ but you can pretty much drop any 3.7 over the past decade into your G (unless it's from an auto 08; not sure how much the bell housing differs from the 7AT and you may run into ECU issues). Would be worth looking into that and what may be involved. If the Z was paired to an AT though, I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Here's a new thread on a member who did a swap.
https://www.myg37.com/forums/engine-...ml#post4285908

Fact: ALL NISSAN/INFINITI 3.7 ENGINES INTERCHANGE.

Main differences will be in RWD and AWD trims.
So 370z, Qx50s, Q50s, EX37s M37s, Q40s etc will all fit.
