g37 plastic rattle EVERYWHERE

I mean everywhere, my whole cabin just wants to shake, especislly going above 70mph. the worst is my light fixture in the middle front (above dash) on the lining. I dont know how to fix the light one, cause idk how to take it off or get any kind of felt up there, its a HORRIBLE rattle, the dash ive been slowly working on to fix, my gauge glass rattles too ;-;. Any suggestions to fix all these issues / fix the light or to be able to take it off without taking the whole lining down. Thanks!

update: fixed alot of it, and planning to get sound dampening material for my sub (trunk and doors)

my main issue is my dash where the steering wheel is, the glass that has the gauges goes crazy and every time i turn the steering wheel while driving goes mad. S.O.S

Check the factory service manual for your car. There are likely detailed instructions on how to remove and replace the interior light.

Good luck; rattles drive me crazy.

Welcome to ageing Japanese cars lol, although Mercedes gets even worse with time. I got some sticky felt and glued it in a bunch of places where rattling was happening. Removed the panels and basically padded the back and sides where it was necessary. Not a single rattle now.

I never understood how some guys find rattles annoying. I usually find women and OCD people who are in my car that complain about my rattles. It's not a library to be blunt. If you think the G37 is bad, wait until you sit in an old Skyline or Supra that the American market lusts for. Still, gives the car some life in my opinion, unless it's a loose part that needs to be installed back into place. Don't install subs and play music loudly, cause that causes the parts to rattle.

I wouldn't say that the Infiniti line has cheap interiors by any means, but they are prone to rattling once you start modifying. At first you think the sound deadening is pretty good until you get an exhaust or something like what you've done putting subs in the trunk. They were designed to be quiet and smooth from the factory, so they didn't have to do a lot of work making the interiors quiet. I just got my exhaust done, and granted it's pretty loud, but it sure made it clear that there's hardly any sound deadening in these cars. The dampeners and bushings in the suspension and driveline are what make these cars so quiet.

Glad you're getting it figured out. I'm installing some sound deadening material in my trunk this weekend to cut down on the interior noise/drone from my exhaust. I can let you know what I got and how it worked once completed if you are interested. Should be at least similar to your application for your subs.

I’ve spent the last 7 months redoing my interior and eliminating every rattle in the car and sound deadening every inch. My car feels like Bentley now. Lots of little rattle tips and tricks my thread.

The dome light rattles are from the ring that connects inside the headliner. Thats a hard one to address without dropping the deadlines. You may be able to drop the front only enough the get it out without removing the entire interior.

Raise your speedo housing and jam foam under it then lower it again. That’s a big problem area and that should help.

There is a lip above the horn that overlaps with steering column. That rattles a lot too. Jam something in there to make it tighter.

Not sure what part of your dash has issue, but that lower piece under glove box is useless and rattles. Just remove it or secure it better.

Plastic touching plastic is main reason for rattles.
