Help cancel seat synchronization
I think the motor on my seat is done because it makes a bad noise and doesn’t move when I turn on and open door, don’t see comfort settings when I go to settings. I turned on acc held the set until they blinked once, started engine turned it off opened the door and it still made the noise. Any suggestions or help would be appreciated
Well, a couple things. First, It sounds like you've got the dreaded broken plastic gear issue, a failure of the drive gear which is supposed to move the seat. (You can find threads on this subject in this forum). Second, you either have a seat memory position that the seat is trying to reach, or you have the Entry/Exit function trying to operating.
Entry/Exit moves the steering wheel up and the seat back every time shut off the car and open the driver's seat. Then it attempts to get both items back into driving position once you get back into the car and start the engine.
From a 2013 G owner's manual:
Cancel or activate entry/exit function:
The selector lever must be in the P (Park) position with the ignition switch in the OFF position.
The entry/exit function can be activated or canceled by pressing and holding the SET switch for more than 10 seconds.
The indicator lights on the memory switches (1 and 2) will blink once when the function is canceled, and the indicator lights will blink twice when the function is activated.
That "SET switch" is the one on the driver's arm rest. Maybe that will stop the sad sound.
