2011 Sedan Caliper Colors

Well I am getting all new calipers. What colors do you all think would look good on my car? I have the smoky quartz color. I'm between black, dark gray, and red.

Let me know what you think would look good or if there's other colors you think that would look good as well.

FYI - I plan to black out the chrome around the windows and paint the wheels, grill and trunk trim dark charcoal metallic. I did this on my coupe so I've attached a picture or two so you can see that color as well.

Thanks! Here's a couple pics just so you can see the color of the my current car, the one I'm getting the new calipers for.

I wish I was getting the sport calipers. No, I have an X non-sport model. I'm under the impression that they're a plug and go upgrade, but they're just too expensive for me to rationalize getting them lol

I am currently between getting Power Stop red painted calipers or unpainted so I can do whatever color I want. The painted are barely any more than the unpainted, which seems like a no-brainer, but I'm not so sure red calipers would match my car.. I can't even find any pictures of a G in my color with red calipers, which is kind of a bad sign lol

Black or grey. I personally wouldn't draw attention to sliders with a bright color.

Yeah, I think I'm just gonna do gloss black. I don't think red would look good with my body color. Plus I want the focus behind the wheels to be the drilled and slotted rotors. Once I get the wheels painted the charcoal metallic color, the rotors are really gonna pop in contrast.

I like the factory-esque silver look.

Brush-on POR-15 caliper paint works really well, in case you haven't chosen your paint brand yet.

Could you post a picture for an example?

Sure. Its not a G37.

I've used their black and their silver on calipers and rotor hats/lips.

I always take the caliper off the car, clean, paint. I do mask the machined surfaces that need to clamp flat.

If you're buying new calipers, it should be easy.

The powerstop calipers actually come zinc plated silver already, usually.

This is after a track day...it holds well

It even clings on til the bitter end lol

I have a set of 4 stock calipers and lines that I took off of my X sedan after my sport brake upgrade. If you're near the NY area, you can have them for free. This way you can save some cash, clean them up, prep them and paint them at your leisure. I didn't have any issues with the calipers. They were taken off at 98k so, needless to say they are dirty / dusty. Let me know if you want them

I really appreciate the offer, but I’m in Indiana. Pretty far to ship and I wouldn’t expect you to ship them to me. I can get remanufactured calipers for a good price so I’ll be alright. My car is at 110k miles so it wouldn’t be much further ahead of what I have now. My rear calipers are completely frozen and the fronts aren’t in the best condition either. The previous owner didn’t do any work themselves and the shop they used must have used impacts for literally everything. So it’s a PITA to do anything because half the bolts are either partially cross threaded, or just so overnighted that me using hand tools is nearly impossible to loosen.

No problem man,

Yeah shipping these things will be a problem due to the weight; they'll probably even get damaged in transit the way some of the couriers handle items, lol. I guess I'll hang on to them just in case anyone local pops up later on who needs calipers...
Best of luck with the project, I'm sure it will turn out nice. Post pictures when all is done

Will do. I’ll probably just do the rear first then do the front later since it’s giving me less trouble. I’m also getting a custom exhaust next weekend so I’ll be posting what got done and how it sounds. I can’t stand how quiet it is lol
