Engine cover removal for better heat dissipation

Hi I was wondering if anybody out there has taken the engine cover off for better heat dissipation and do you think it will actually make any difference?

Thanks for the reply. Yes I do too open up my hood after parking in my garage. During the winter it actually warms my house up too cause I’d perch my door open for the warmth to enter.
And today I just removed the engine cover and will be leaving it off. Yes, guess it can’t hurt.
I had an 2004 TL that I did that and over the years the hood struts stopped working. Might of been just with age. Had it over 10 years. Sold it let the next person deal with it.

While it can't hurt, I doubt it would have any effect.

All depends on how long you plan on having your car. Heat is not kind to ANY electronics as well as the plastics in an engine bay. I'm of the school of thought that it will help in those areas and the effort it takes to benefit from this is minimal. Therefore "it can't hurt".

It's good hygiene - like washing your hands (but easier that that )

Just leave it on. Won’t make a difference. The intake manifold looks like a waffle.

so last night I did check on it after a couple hours and I did notice it cool already.
usually I check on it with the cover on and The hood up After a couple hours and I would still be hot.
i’ll have to do a temperature analysis with the cover on and off after couple hours and report back lol.

If anything remove the hood liner. Looks better imo, and will definitely let head radiate through the hood better.

looks awesome! That’s right up my alley, except if it weren’t for resale value I’d do it lol.

370z cover is a nice alternative. It's a 2 piece design and is small like this one.

I think the cover is more for decoration and noise. Some cars don't even come with one. I took mine off and I could hear the engine more.
