There are several threads on this site that explain how to do the black out chrome around the windows. Basically you just buy some vinyl, and it explains what vinyl in that thread that you will need to get. It’s a gloss black I believe, but don’t quote me on that. It even tells you the measurements on how to cut the vinyl so you’re not wasting hardly any of it. I’ll have to look around and I will send you a copy of that thread.
Ya, the more I think about it I'm not going to do plasti-dip. I actually found some automotive "tape" that is good to use for chrome delete on trim and such. Very cheap stuff to buy with good reviews so I figured I'd give that a try. I'll have to show the results whenever I get around to doing that. If that doesn't work, I'll try what's on the thread you linked.

Those would look pretty good on your G. Might need some other supporting mods to make the look flow. That's a pretty busy wheel design lol Able to find any used?
I honestly feel like the simple wheels look really good on these G's. You do you though. If you like them and can make them work then go for it! lol

Thanks!
I have 245/40/19's all around on my X. Also lowered with aftermarket springs, there really werent any alignment "issues" it just needed one after the springs were put on, went very smooth.

Yeah, busy wheels are 'my thing' i guess lol. Yeah i know these would look amazing if the car was lowered but im im probably not going to.

I think blacking out the lights and trim and window tint will add to the look hopefully. Im in no rush for wheels, but imagine ill be finding another set that i like on the used market

Thanks for the reply! How did the ride quality change? How much more uncomfortable was it?

This is something im REALLY on the fence about, but cant justify almost $700 for springs if its just going to ruin the ride.

I love the stock ride quality, but not the monster truck look lol

Im not going to lie it definitely makes it worse but i think its worth for the lowered look, it really depends on how bad the roads around you are because i can imagine if the roads around you are complete garbage i wouldnt even waste my time with it. I live in a big city the roads are like 6/10 and ive honestly gotten used to it now ive had them for about 8 months, just watch for potholes and such and you'll be fine. I've heard getting aftermarket shocks improves the ride with springs but im not 100% on it, you also could go with Coilovers if you dont want the ride quality to get dramatically worse.

Yeah, my town, the roads are a 2/10 at best. And im not even exaggerating. The winters are harsh since its up northern ontario. And the roads do not fare well at all.

Im just going to save my money and stay at stock ride height. Im just trying to find a badass looking set of wheels, that look good at stock ride height. Be them 18s or 19s.

Saw a set of niche wheels for sale a couple hours away from me. 19x 8.5 +45 offset.

Bros asking $700 and one has a slight dent to it.

Ill see if a deal can be made of some kind. But the bent one is kind of putting me off as im not sure how much it would cost to fix. They would look amazing though!!!!

I do have one question,

I did some research to the best of my knowledge, but, im still a bit confused. So, those niche wheels above are 19 x 8.5, with a +45 offset. My understanding is that, if the stock offset is +45 (right?) and the stock wheels are 7.5 inches wide, what will happen when i install these new wheels?

If im right, since the offset is the same, the new wheels will stick out by 1 inch? Or will it divided half and half. I think thats right, unless im over/underthinking it. Guy reduced his price to $550 for the set, so im going to try and see if i can scoop em for less, or make a deal where he gets the dent fixed first.

Would +35 for be a better fit? Or running spacers?

Thanks!

So the offset is how far the wheel pokes out from the mounting point. Just because the wheels are wider doesn't mean they will poke out more. Since it's the same offset as stock, they won't poke out or be any more flush than your stock wheels, they will just stick into your wheelwells deeper. If you want more flush fitment, 35 offset is the way to go. Spacers are more risky as they reduce the amount of thread your lug nuts can thread onto. If you're looking at new wheels just get the offset you want.

Thanks for the reply!!!

I decided to go for the swift springs. I thought long and hard and figured a mild drop is what im after for now. Since my tires are practically brand new, i may as well hold off on and budget for wheels next season.

Plus, i knew i was never going to be satisfied with the fender gap, no matter what wheels i got. The mild drop makes even the stock wheels look good lol.

Thanks for everyones input!!!

I plan on spending time doing all my mods and work on the car at once.

So ill post some before and after pics and vids once my exhaust and springs are on, and my headlight bezels are done!

If you go 19x8.5 +45 just buy 15mm spacers and you'll be fine. I'm running that with +43 and a 255 wide tire. Only thing is you'll rub grooves in your fender liner but no real damage there.

I'm lowered on coils and I regret it. Living in Ontario and driving up to cottage country regularly has my wife laughing at all the butt clench. I'll be raising it up in the fall to make life a bit easier for next winter and onwards.

10v36, you need to take in whole forest, not just the trees. If you get narrow 5-spokes like those Niche or Vossen wheels, there's going to come a time where all you see are those ugly little non-sport calipers. It's inevitable. So my advice here is to look for wheels that don't show off your brakes. Consider a design that's more about the wheel, and less about the negative space.

For example, if you like Niche, consider the Niche Form. It's a clean, 15-spoke design. The problem with 15-spoke wheels is they're knuckle-busters trying to keep the barrel clean.

Similarly over at Vossen, there's the VSF-2. (Vossens are typically overpriced, but still nice wheels.)

Appreciate the feedback and solid advice man!! I definitely agree. Since ive maxed out my budget on the exhaust and springs now,

Wheels are a lesser priority lol. Maybe next year, but ill definitely be keeping this advice. Makes good sense.

Thanks!
