Totaled my G37x - Bought new G37x

Last month I was in my 2010 g37x and ran into the back of a co-workers' Camry at <5mph. His car was undamaged except for scratch in his rear bumper. Creased my fender, bumper, and headlight was 1/2inch low. Drove around for two weeks, no problems except for a bit low on the headlight. Not much, but I noticed. I decided to take in to repair under insurance (500 deduct)..I figu#kred a 2300-2900 repair max. Nope - estimate was 7500 to repair so insurance totaled it. F##k I love my G, Hotchkiss sways, K/N air filters, Navtool and USA spec Bluetooth, Tint, New goodyears, fresh mobil one, LED in all the interior lights, stainless radio *****, it goes on. I put in alot of love, and she treated me well. Bout it 19 months ago with 68k, I just passed 108k with NO problems. A sqeuak from dash occassionally, and cat rattled until it warmed up good, but AMAZING car, I came from an Acura RL, also nice but slow compared to G. Insurance paid off 8900, covered the lien and I get 75 dollars back.....See before and after pix. The major costs were Headlight (tab broken but it WORKED), had to evac radiator AND AC, and assorted other bull**** Caliber Collision added on.

Good news is yesterday I went to Carmax and bought a 2012 Gold/Black G37x with 67k clean clean paint, newish Sumitomos, slotted and drilled rotors front and rear.....so someone loved this car as well! No other work that I can see except for fairly dirty k n air filters. Stock sways, but the steering rack is nice and tight compared to my old G. Put in 250 miles from dealership last night then to work and back, and it's SWEET. Got nav too, so I don't need USA spec to get Pandora, etc..

Love when it all works out, but you gotta follow up the depressing pics with the happy ones. Let's see the replacement!

As requested....Black interior, Gold(ish) paint. I like this color much more - The black/wheat interior was impossible to keep clean outside and in.

So I'm in pretty much the same boat.

Got in a wreck Monday night in my 2010 G37x (75k miles, smoky quartz color like your new one). Loved that car. Estimate from body shop currently sitting at ~ $8400. Body shop told me that they are contacting insurance to see if they want to total it, or authorize the repair.

Considering replacing my car with a 2015 Q40 AWD.

What the heck. I was in an accident over a month ago in my 09 g37x. Got pinned between 2 cars, broke a headlight, both front fenders, front bump, drivers tire rod, and scuffed up the rims and both front doors. Was hoping it was totalled so I could a newer lower mile g37, but my estimate only came out 5700 dollars! I love my car to death but was really hoping for the newer lower miles..

also, I absolutely love that gold color

Why didn't you just buy it back from insurance?
