Found this monitor on my battery... Anyone else use one?
Hi Guys,
Found this little purple box sitting on my battery this past weekend (pic below). It's something called a Pivot MegaRAIZIN. The top of the box reads: High Capacity System & Battery Performance Monitor. From Pivot's website: https://pivotjp.com/product/vs-m/vs-m-e.html
It appears to be a voltage regulator of some sort. Anyway, after reading about it, I decided to take it off and see if there was any difference. I had to disconnect the battery at both terminals as the unit is connected across the terminals... one side to positive, one to negative. Drove it around yesterday and this morning to work. I didn't really notice any performance differences. However, the site indicates there is improved audio quality. I think I may actually notice a little difference here--mostly in low bass response, volume and smoothness. Of course, this may be psychological, so I will have to give it a couple more days and see.
Anyone using one of these? If so, did you notice any improvements? Performance or otherwise?
I've only seen capacitors used when someone has a beefy stereo and doesn't want their lights to dim every time the bass hits. It isn't required for normal operation.
