Rattling Noise in my exhaust

I have a 2010 Sedan Base and Just recently every time I start it and rev it I hear a noise that sounds like soda cans clinking together.. I jus recently been hearing a leak in my exhaust not sure from where it sounds like it’s close to my Cats though.. any help on why it rattles when I rev? It does it when I drive also but not as much as a rev. Thank you

Your cats themselves? I'm not sure if we have heat shields.

it may be your cat or the heat shield trust me I am having the same problem. I brought the car to the garage, had it on the hoist, to my surprised I had to remove a heat shield close to the engine compartment we had to cut it since it was blocked by the oxygen sensor. But I bet its your cat I have the 09 and just had them recently changed last month.

probably the cat heatsheild...they very commonly failure on these cars..theres many many many many thread on this site about it going back at least 10 years....just cut them off or bend them back so the loose part is not making contact with the car when it vibrates ro clamp them down tighter with some hose clamps...have I mentioned that there are many threads one here about it?...anyways good luck the sound is annoying to hear form an otherwise smooth running car

So your noise went away after taking out your heat shield and changing your cats? I have HFC(High Flow Cats) to put on I just haven’t had the time now is my time to find out the noise and change my cats

Yes the noise went away after I installed the test pipe and then the heat shield over the muffler fell lol. So I had to use some muffler bracket for now, but sometime I can still hear some rattling but I think it's near the engine.

I was chasing a rattle for the longest, removed all heatsheild, had my car up on a lift multiple times banging around with a rubber mallet n me nor my mechanic couldn't find it so while at a friend's house we decided to look again n we finally found the damn thing, it was the dust sheild for the rotor on the passenger side that was causing the rattle. Good luck on your search n I really hope it's not your cats, infinitis emission warranty is 8years/80,000 miles. My car never rattled while in park or neutral but yours does so you might want to check that out. What's your mileage, if your not over 80k I say go to the damn dealer for some new cats under warranty.
