You may be in the same situation I was in when I first bought my x. Wanted some aesthetics done but didnt have that big of a budget at first. Ended up Plasti Dipping my grill, chrome trunk stupid thing, and emblems and then vinyl wrapped my chrome trim (actually very easy) Probably all in with everything was $50 and a couple hours of my time. If you do the dip properly its easy to mistake for paint until you feel it.
You know how easy it is to go back and forth on things like this vinyl wrapped roof? For the most part, I've always passed, but for some reason this pic of your car has me thinking roof wrap again.
Surprised nobody has said it, maybe because it is very minor aesthetically, but Diode Dynamics Tail as Turn module - $40 and I feel it modernizes the signals a little

Honestly I think the G should have came with a black roof it just makes the contrast that much better IMO. Went I went and brought mine in for a wrap it was G day as the guy called it, 5 G’s all getting roof wraps.

Did you have to take the grille piece off to dip?
You have any pics of the vinyl wrapped chrome trim around the doors?

Before mirrors and roof wrap
You DO NOT have to remove the grille. Some people and it helps you cover more of it. I chose to keep it on and just masked off the rest of the car so that the area I was spraying was a rectangle around the grille and sprayed everything including onto the bumper. Also you need to ADD a piece of cardboard behind the grille if you keep it on so you dont spray the radiator. Once you get enough coats you start to peal the dip on bumper and it cuts the grille out that way. There are some good videos on how to dip a grille from dipyourcar on youtube.

Yes. Can't imagine any benefit whatsoever to painting the grille while still on the car. That makes no sense.
For dip it is just easier since you it just comes right off the bumper part with the paint unharmed. You’re just taking out an extra step for the same results basically. If it were actual paint no way would you want to keep that on the car.
Here is a close up after dipped and got rid of excess without removing grille.

There’s something called AutoDip or “superwrap” that’s been out for a while. It’s been at sema a few times. Mostly for rims and trims. I haven’t seen it do an entire car yet. t’s like Plasti dip but it’s considered “sprayable vinyl”. Sprays on and peels off the same. Only difference really is that it leaves a gloss finish to it instead of that matte finish. It’s like 12 bucks a can. If you have Instagram you can check them out: superwrapoffical or their website is getsuperwrap.com I’ll be ordering a couple cans soon myself I’ll post pics.
