Hi all.
I’ve had my G37 sedan for about 2 1/2 years now. Recent mileage is 36,xxx.
As much as I love the dual personalities of this car the rattles have really bothered me.
It’s unbelievable that a car which comes from a self proclaimed luxury brand would have the interior noise this vehicle does.
I’ve addressed the horrible front plastic cracking, creaking sound that started the first cold week I owned the car.
As of late, a back deck area rattle appeared. A very tin sounding, low volume rattle on rougher roads. Which is all roads here in California 🙄
At first it was intermittent. I poked around the interior, and along the underside in the trunk. Side note- I was a bit surprised at how flimsy the interior back deck is.
I had no luck and the rattle became constant. Even my son who sits in the back and never stops talking started complaining about the rattle.
As it became constant I had the wife drive while I sat in the back seat. Wasn’t the flimsy back deck after all! It’s the small interior panel, on the side before the window. The clip hasn’t popped but it must be loose, as when I push on the panel, the noise stops.
This was today so I haven’t went about a fix yet. I’m not thrilled with the idea of popping the panel off and installing new clips, but that might be the only fix (if removing it alone is possible).
I’ll update when the problem is solved.
Hope this will be helpful to anyone that may have the same problem.
