Got my rear deck rattle fixed

I took it to Lisle Infiniti -- they had the car over the weekend b/c they had to disassemble the entire rear shelf.

Apparently they installed some dampeners (i.e. foam pieces with adhesive) in the trouble spots, and of course when I get my car, rattle is gone, but what.. what's that?

Yeah, it was still there, but a little different and only with harsh bumps -- whereas BEFORE servicing it, it was there even on smooth pavement -- a constant vibration from under the subwoofer (i rode in the back seat while the wifey drove so i could pin point the exact location).

On second examination, NOW the rattle was coming from where the rear deck brake light met the windshield -- i picked up some black soft velcro (i've a black interior) and wedged a little in the problem area, and boom, rattle gone.

i have tinted windows so you can't see the "mod" and its invisible on the interior b/c i've wedged it flush with the light.

Knock on wood -- finally some peace and quiet.

I hear ya -- i was a bit reluctant to bring it in for this as well, as I had horrific visions of greasy finger prints on the pillars and the seats with tears in the leather ..

however, I got lucky (so far as I can tell) with how they put the car back together.

My G which was just serviced after getting rear ended labor day... 900 bucks in damage has had a rattle coming from my Guage cluster plastic. Now that I'm driving over ice and snow covered roads its almost unbearable. Will see how my dealership does.

I just heard a new Infiniti dealership opened up in the old town location of the last dealer in chicago. Anyone had experience there yet?
