Loss of power after downshifting
Hi everyone,
I have experienced this issue three times now in the past month and it each time it comes without warning. The car will be shifting, usually down and the car will start shifting very harshly, bog down and almost completely lose power. This first happened moving around 50 mph, slower speeds the other two times. The e-brake light will kind of start to come on as well. I can't tell if this is trans or torque converter issues as the AT Check light doesn't come on. Another thing that has been happening is that during hard acceleration or accelerating up a steep incline, the e-brake light, the VDC and Slip lights all come on. After accelerating, the e-brake light goes away, however, the VDC and slip lights remain until I turn the car off. No other check lights have come on since I've had the car. Turning the car off and letting it sit for just a minute fixes both issue, but I would really like to find out the root cause here as I don't want the issues to become worse (or more expensive). Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
