Seriously considering getting Redline's shift boot and armrest cover. I've seen some quality shots from Rochester, Lego, and 4DZ of both but does anyone have the e-brake boot that can post some pictures?
I'm thinking of going black perf leather with silver stitching and wondering how that would tie into the e-brake boot and how that looks on the 6spd sedan.
Should probably label this thread "...for the 6MT"
Have you ever taken your armrest console completely apart and looked closely at the design considerations on the parking brake handle? There's inadequate space to retrofit a leather boot there. To do it right, in a way that looks properly OEM, will take some serious customization skills.
Best I could do was re-use my old vinyl shift boot over the p-brake handle. It's by no means perfect, but at the end of the day I decided that it looked better than having nothing there. Plus, it's an easily overlooked area when you eyeball the interior.
Anyway... FWIW, here's a pic. You can see the original vinyl shifter boot used on the p-brake. Actually, in this picture, it looks more proper than it does in person.
OP, if you get a leather p-brake handle boot from RedlineGood, I'm interested in how it goes, and I might upgrade.
Props Rochester to thinking outside of the box and using the vinyl shifter boot. I've taken out the center console twice and can definitely relate to the space that's available to make this look good and OE-like. Wonder how Redline addresses this...I'm going to give it a go. I'll keep this thread updated.
I ordered the STS boot, armrest cover, and e-brake boot all in charcoal napa leather with silver stitching. I went perforated on the shifter boot and armrest. The quality of the product is spot on and the material feels great.
There are no instructions for e-brake from Redline but after a few attempts I figured out it was pretty straightforward. There's no need to remove the whole center console, it actually fits over the ebrake with the plastic base popped off and then put back on over the leather - no glue required.. I'm putting together a DIY but for now pics.
That looks way better than I was guessing it would. Maybe my fitment problems can be attributed to using the old vinyl shift boot for the p-brake, because what you have here looks right. Also, I didn't realize you could pop off that panel. I thought it had to be unclipped from underneath.
