Low Profile Ramps

Got these ramps about two weeks ago and finally used them today for an oil change. They are really worth it. No more using scissor jack then a floor jack just to lift one side up. Cleared the highest point of the jack by an inch.

As an easy way to get clearance for your floor jack, sure looks like a great solution you found there. But so would a 1x12 plank, right?

Although I'm probably not dropped as low as you might be, I opened my wallet last Fall and bought a set of Race Ramps that I'm very happy with.

Hey look at that. Could start a new thread called "Vossens on Ramps".

I'm dropped on Tein S-Tech. Are you able to get underneath without a jack?

Not sure what you're asking. My floor jack is ancient, and I'm interested in buying a low-profile jack. Been thinking one of these days I'd pick one up at Harbor Freight.

Sometimes, if I need to use a floor jack at the front corners, like you're doing here, I run the car up on a 12x1 plank first. Had to do the same thing for an old set of ramps, to give me that little extra clearance before the tires hit the plastic.

But now if I'm looking to get the car up on ramps (like when changing the oil), I just run it straight up the incline with these race ramps.

I'm just putting that pic out there for options on-topic, is all. Here's another at the rear:

What I was asking was if you're able to crawl underneath the car on those ramps without additional lift. Based on that picture, it looks like I can get under with no problems. I'm a small guy. I was thinking about getting similar ramps mainly for that purpose.

Harbor Freight jacks are good and always on sale. Mine is 1.5 ton, probably should have got 2 tons.

Just make your own, you can stagger them out even more for a gentler rise and only costs the price of one piece of 7/16" OSB and some screws, and they stack height-wise so they don't take up much of a footprint

Absolutely. More so than most... 8" lift.

Expensive, though. $200+ IIRC.
