My biggest complaint about my G after a few months of ownership

I really don't like that if I push the window lock button, the non-drivers windows are also locked for me. Every car I've ever owned has let me roll up and down when I lock for the other passengers. Makes things difficult with a toddler in the back seat sometimes. My car didn't come with a manual so maybe there's a fix, but I can't find anything about it online.

It's the little things. Otherwise, I still love the car

Just curious what were the other cars that would let you freely use the windows after locking?

Well my 2002 Grand Cherokee allows me to lock the windows, then roll up and down for the passengers from my drivers controls. My 2013 Evo X let me do it as well.

Is this a common thing to not be able to? Until recently, I never had the need to do so and never paid attention to it lol.

Every car I’ve owned behaves like the G in terms of Window Lock...

Now I'm going to have to check every time I get into someone's car haha. It's just different from the last two vehicles I've owned, which is odd that apparently most cars behave like the G does.

TIL. Every car I've been in (that I've noticed) let's the driver control all windows while locking passenger window controls. I thought my old maxima was like this as well.

I agree it's a great car and a blast to drive. I have a few more than what you mentioned and will put up a post soon. Overall that's a small complaint so keep enjoying the car!

come to think of it, all other makes that i've owned allowed driver control even when the lock out was pressed. i agree this is weird. is infiniti trying to protect drivers from themselves? isn't the idea to lock out everyone except the driver?

You guys make me feel better about noticing it. Not that it's a huge deal, it's just inconvenient that I don't have control if I want to lock the rest of the windows out.

^ I think the question should have been what cars DON'T allow driver full window control when under window lock.

My 2009 Civic and 2009 Genesis sedan both allowed driver control with it locked. My 2001 Acura CL-S let me control the passenger window still too.

This is an issue for me as well. My son is 7 and autistic. If I forget to lock the button he has his down. Then it becomes a struggle where I unlock it to put his up and he is holding down his button and it goes down even more. This ends with me having to stop the car and hold his hands while I unlock the windows put his up and then relict them. It’s a small issue to me. My wife’s Terrain if the driver locks the windows they can still operate the rest of them.

The other complaint is his convenience light. He turns it on and I forget to check it and he killed my battery. It was an excuse to get a new Exide 24F though and then I just popped that one bulb out.
