Welcome to the site!
I'd consider sway bars, light wheels and top notch summer tires. I'm moving this to the sedan folder. If you want to start a build thread you can go ahead, but check out a couple of the most popular build threads for
how they set them up.

What wheels and sway bars do you recommend?

I have the z1 intake with the upgrade, q300 invidia exhaust that I'm still waiting for. It' on back order, and have the uprev tuner that I got through z1.

I was thinking of the Z1 Intake because it was $80 off, but after doing some research there were complaints that the filters were poor quality and allowed excessive dust, dirt and contaminants into the intake tubes.

So I started to look into Stillen Gen 3s. Can be purchased for $425 shipped until cyber monday is over.

hmmm I didn't dig too deep on the z1. Was it the same for the upgraded filter?

I'd go with AAM over Stillen. It has a removable insert that opens up the diameter on the intake runners when you get tuned.

AAM Intakes

Frankie,
Hotchkiss & Eibach are the most common here, the Hotchkiss cost a bit more but have grease-able bushings, both perform well.

As far as wheels, there's so many decent options depending on style & budget.
Many of the newer flow-formed (which are also known as rotary forged, and probably a couple other fancy names, lol) are a good option for lighter, stronger wheels that are quite a bit cheaper than true forged wheels.

I have Wedssport wheels, most of their wheels are around 20 lbs.
WedsSport Wheels

Some other quality Japan-sourced wheels that won't bust the bank would be SSR (the GTV line)
http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...egory_Code=SSR

The Work Emotion line
http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...y_Code=EMOTION

Rays Gramlites (some are budget busters though)
http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...tegory_Code=GM

Enkei (again, some are quite high $$)
http://www.evasivemotorsports.com/mm...e=Enkei_Wheels

Forgestars aren't a Japan made wheel but another option and they custom cut the offsets.

Good luck settling on just one

You're listing power mods here, so if that's your thing...

...Rear gears. Go short.

Z1 2 Piece Rotors are 10 lbs lighter and around 460 right now, of course you will need the Akebono Calipers if you don't have an S. New Differential bushings, because yours are probably already leaking. How about some coil overs and upgraded suspension pieces?

If you get the sways, you will want to update the swaybar links.

You can lighten the car by removing things like the spare tire. Get yourself a lithium battery. Unfortunately my old bat was acting a fool and I just got a conventional one.

If you are going to change the gears, get the VSLD if you don't have an S. Some guys use 4.09 I think something around 3.77 or so would be a good compromise.

did you order the upgraded filter? I think it's not worth it because they require you to remove your front bumper support, ship it to them, pay them $200 to modify it, than ship it back to you for install.

all this just to fit a different shape intake and gain minimal hp.

The Z1 intakes alone seem well worth it until i did some research and found a couple of members on here complaining about contaminants getting past the filters. One member sold the Z1 and got Stillens instead.

Also the Z1 intake filters don't have any type of bracket to hold them in place. Both intake tubes kind of just dangle and hang behind the front grill...
