all this just to fit a different shape intake and gain minimal hp.

The Z1 intakes alone seem well worth it until i did some research and found a couple of members on here complaining about contaminants getting past the filters. One member sold the Z1 and got Stillens instead.

Also the Z1 intake filters don't have any type of bracket to hold them in place. Both intake tubes kind of just dangle and hang behind the front grill...
I didn' have to change anything on the front bumper support. That' only for the Z's. I thought it was weird that they just hung there to I used some "plumbers tape" and was able to basically support them. The sound I get is beyond awesome.

If you get the sways, you will want to update the swaybar links.

You can lighten the car by removing things like the spare tire. Get yourself a lithium battery. Unfortunately my old bat was acting a fool and I just got a conventional one.

If you are going to change the gears, get the VSLD if you don't have an S. Some guys use 4.09 I think something around 3.77 or so would be a good compromise.
I do have coilovers, I'll definitely look into the bushings. The brakes are gonna have to wait lol. That akebono setup is pricey. For the sway bars I haven't looked much into suspension. I was really just.looking for power mods but I know I should get the suspension upgrades as well.

Ring & Pinion, bearings & bushings... all OEM parts, but aftermarket companies will bundle it together as a kit. Z1 Motorsports, for example. Parts and Labor are closely split at about 50% each of the project, and unless you're a mechanic you're going to want a shop who's comfortable with rebuilding a differential. None of this is rocket science, but it's also not a simple "bolt-on" project, either.

That said, this is the single most significant power mod you can do to our cars, except for forced induction. And technically it's not a power mod, because it's gearing, not HP. But man oh man, that low-end torque is a rush. Exhaust & tune are incremental things. Short gears is next level.

If OP has a 5at or someone has a 7at (2009+) would it be possible to install the ring and pinion gears in the auto diffs, or is it required to purchase a 6-speed manual diff to fit the 3.91/4.08 gears in?

Also since you have VLSD, what kind of diff fluid did you use? Any additives?

Pretty sure that's correct about the diff housing, which you would know better than me. For clarification to the OP, that doesn't mean you can't swap gears on an AT car, it's just more involved. But yeah, it's primarily a mod taken on by 6MT G/Z cars.

BTW, heck of a build thread you've got there, Chuckie. The OP should definitely read through it.

I use Redline gear oil in my transmission and diff. No additives... not familiar with that topic.
