VIN code for sport package?

Looking to replace the rear swaybar (AWD) with the rear bar from a RWD sport. There are a ton of used swaybars listed on ebay for under $80 shipped, but often the descriptions are lacking. The vin of the vehicles they came from are often listed and i wanted to know if anyone knows if there is a section of the VIN that would indicate the trim level. I don't want to end up with the wrong item.

additional question: what is the 370z rear bar equivalent to?

This website accurately describes my '11 G37X as having the sport appearance package.

https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/Infiniti

I don't know why, but the first few lines show the wrong model. If you keep scrolling, it's accurate. I tried it on a sport on eBay and it describes the car on eBay.

BTW I bought a sport sways out the classifieds here for my '11 G37X sedan for $100 shipped. Obviously I couldn't use the front, which is smaller than the AWD front anyhow. My understanding is that standard RWD sway is really not that much smaller than the sport RWD rear sway. It is much bigger than my AWD rear sway was.

There is no "sport" swaybar, just RWD and AWD. AFAIK, the only OEM suspension upgrade on the RWD Sport Package are Tokico dampers.

I always thought that the Sport Models had a bigger swaybar, interesting.

There's a lot of conflicting swaybar info on this site and others. Let me see if i have this right:

AWD coupe and sedan (including S): Smaller rear sway
RWD coupe, sedan (including S & all 370z): Larger rear sway
IPL, Nismo: any difference?

I have dug into this extensively, since I am cheap and wanted the best bar for the buck. The IPL and all other RWD models have the same RSB. I do not recall the exact dimensions, but I believe its like 21.2mm or something along those lines. The only bar that is better, if I recall, was the NISMO bar off the 370Z. I believe that bar was another 3mm or so in thickness, but very hard to find used and even harder to confirm its actually a NISMO bar versus just a stock RWD bar.

In the end, all of the models will fit each other, so as long as you end up with some sort of RWD variant, you will be improving the rear bar on your AWD car. I ended up with the 370Z non-NISMO bar and immediately felt an improvement over the 17.7mm AWD stock bar. Hope this helps.

That makes the search immeasurably easier now that I know every 370z and RWD G37 is using the same bar. There have to be a hundred of them on ebay for cheap.

Anything that will satisfy the mod bug for under $100 is a win.

Other than the bar, i assume I'll need larger bushings. Are the brackets for the swaybar bushings the same or will I need larger ones for the larger bar?

I just changed just the bushings. The bracket is the same for both RSB’s. Probably wouldn’t hurt have a 2wd vin to make the bushings easier to find. It’s a great mod for the money. The G37x goes from wallowing to solid flat handling in 20 minutes.

The used one i found comes with bushings but no brackets. Lower milage than mine. Also comes with endlinks, but I might just replace them with Moogs since they are significantly beefier and relatively inexpensive.
