Looking for some purchasing insight

Hi All,

I recently have been in search for a 2013 g37x. As I miss my old g35 coupe I need to come back to the G!! My question is whether it is worth the wait for a g37xS or not. It seems they are incredibly rare with low mileage. The main reason I would rather the Sport model is because I love the front bumper and sport lip add on as well as the rear spoiler. I am also looking for a moonlight white specifically (considering graphite shadow as well). I don't care for the paddle shifters and as far as I know the only other difference is the suspension and bigger brakes. Would like to hear some of your thoughts..

Thanks in advance and please feel free to add pictures of your own!

xS doesn't have the bigger brakes. Only the RWD model does. Can add it after the fact though. xS will also get you Navigation which makes playing music through your phone do-able.

Worth the wait to get what you want. Always.

I've certainly seen bigger brakes on the xS compared to my non-sport. I'm talking coupe though so I'm not sure about the sedan. I also got Nav without being the S. I'm guessing it was an option but you don't need the S for Nav.

If you really like the bigger brakes and look of the S model go for it but limiting yourself to an xS in a particular color will probably mean you'll have to wait a bit or travel farther to get what you want. If you can't wait and get a non-sport then remember that some of those things you can add on yourself later like the bumper, spoiler, suspension, etc. or even see if you can work that into the sale -- that's what I did to get my spoiler. Good luck on your search!

Only XS Coupe gets the big Akebonos, if you want (or need) the 4 doors I'd look into a RWD S Sedan if you can run snow tires in winter (or another car). The RWD S gets ALL the goodies!

Welcome to the site BTW!

For the Sedan, xS is purely an appearance package. No BBK for the AWD Sedans. A Journey with the Sport package will have these features. I think I'm one of the rare ones that prefers the Non-sport bumper on the sedan vs the the sport. Looks way too much like a Maxima with those edges IMO.

Examples:

Sedan xS (AWD): https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/invent...ting=168483067

Could you provide pictures of your car with the spoiler? I like the look of the xs spoiler without having that chrome piece on the trunk..

Thanks RMB5190!

The BBK doesn't matter as much to me and unfortunately I drive a lot for work and the RWD doesn't cut it in the winter. It seems like the xs front bumper with the oem lip looks much better than the non sport..IMO and thanks guys, happy to be back on the G forums. Miss my old 06 stillen supercharger g35 coupe in Athens blue!!

OK, you can't describe a G35 like that and not post pics....where's your head at.

BBK is really only a cosmetic upgrade unless tracking the car in which it will shine. More than enough options for pads and rotors to increase performance.

Lip does add a little extra something. Be sure to specifically get the sport lip if you add it after the fact. There's a non-sport lip as well that you don't want to accidentally get.

True I will upload a few later tonight after work. Does the sport lip fit on both the sport and non sport bumper though?

The xS sedan also gets the more aggressively bolstered sport seats, which may or may not be a good thing

You get them anyway on the xS Sedan. Pretty much useless, too.

Nope. Not on the xS Sedan. You also get the wide steering on the xS Sedan, which is no bueno.

As said many times, the xS Sedan is a Sport Appearance-only Package. However, it does look the part. And the Sport Seats are nice.

Thank you all for the replies I appreciate the help. It does seem like they are very hard to come by when only looking for one or 2 colors specifically. I have been searching for a couple of.months now only to find a smoky quartz XS. Which I couldn't get past the color in the sunlight. I've been looking at this one http://www.infinitiofnashua.com/auto/preowned-2013-infiniti-g37_sedan-x_premium__nav-nashua-03060-nh/20136798/ mainly because it's CPO has 2 years left on factory warranty. I haven't driven it yet. Also will upload some pics of the old g35
