Exclamation Center bracket exhaust question

Hi everyone, this is my first post and its a question.

I recently installed BC racing coilovers on my 2013 g37x sedan and I am glad to say there is no "clunking" noise in the rear. I had my topspeed Y back exhaust installed and it seems like the middle area of my car is banging onto this center bracket piece.

Did anyone ever remove this center bracket and have no trouble with their exhaust? Is this piece a structural or rigidity piece that is important to the car? Any insights would be great thanks!

I wouldn't get rid of the bracket, but to get rid of the clunk, bend it out with a pry bar a bit to get some clearance or put a couple of washers between the bolts holding it to the bottom of the car to gain some clearance.

Bend the bracket a bit so that the exhaust doesn't rattle on it. Have a couple of friends with the Top speed that kept it on with no issues. The ARK on mine hangs lower so I had to get rid of it

Wouldn't fit with ARK Grip. It's been off for a couple of years.

Thanks everyone for the input. I'll bend it first and see if the noise is still there, worse case I will remove it.

I removed mine as well. My Top speed y back was too low to make any adjustments.

Mine was bent to fit the 2.5" pipes in my catback. No added washers, IIRC. It's been fine for the last two years. I wouldn't remove it. You add chassis bracing, you don't take it away. However, I've not removed it and compared before/after, and it seems people have.

I snapped one of the bolts off just putting a moderate amount of torque when putting that piece back, honestly just from that lack of robustness you can tell it doesn't do much in terms of actual bracing for the chassis. It's just there to protect/support the exhaust if it sags down too much, you could do with taking it off.

Had mine off for a about a year now, no ill effect or issues. Sometimes you have to take it off for large exhausts. I tried washers and that didnt work, plus being lowered with huge speedbumps in my neighborhood probably best that its off.

All fixed!

Just posting after pictures now, its all good no more noise issue. Thanks all.

before: its literally touching already so it rattles.

after: the clearance of a few millimeter cleared it. No more rattle or metal to metal contact noise.
