I'm disappointed they're choosing to get rid of the vert. As far as I know, that means if you want a luxury convertible, you're pretty much tied to the BMW/Audi maintenance cycle after the lease/warranty period.

I dislike when car companies move away from what got them to where they are. Infiniti moving towards the pure, boring, luxury production is a huge turnoff for me. To be honest, they can't compete either because the Germans and Lexus make a better product IMO if luxury is the focus.
Just spent quite a few days at the dealership with my own car and the sales floor was empty every. single. day. and I was there for 30-90 minutes at a time. Toyota is a boring *** product; Mazda is becoming that way as well and Infiniti is following suit. I know we knock Hyundai and Kia for the poser status they have when copying styles but at least they're staying true to the sport sedan / coupe model that brought them success.

Cool! If you are ever up in the Appleton area you will have to stop by my Nissan store.
Did they get rid of the manual transmission in the coupe too?!?
I read this the other day too and another article saying that A/T transmissions are now so good that they will eventually replace the DCT as well. Yikes!

Get a 2010 if you are serious about a GT-R. The 2009's had launch control and Nissan would not warranty the trans if people damaged it as a result of the launch control.

so what is infiniti going to do? keep using their outdated, slow , gear hunting, and laggy 7AT for the new Z and Black Sport Q60?? Instead of releasing an updated 6MT or even a DCT for the OBVIOUSLY SPORT dedicated models???
That is the automotive manufacturer equivalent of shooting yourself in the foot, not once, but twice. One for screwing over the sport build of the Black S Q60 and the other for royally screwing over the Z as well. Infiniti doesn't have better than a 7AT if they aren't going to use MT or DCT.
6MT's belong in sport dedicated models at the very least.
