i can't find any STI under 25grand haha. Those cars retain value like crazy. I might be leaning towards the 370z still but not 100% sure. Need to go test drive one soon.

I think the biggest competition between the 370z for cars around or under 20 grand is the BRZ / FRS as well as the new mustang (300hp, 30mpg or something ). But I would never buy a v6 mustang. But between the 370z and FRS / BRZ , Power and aggression is for the 370z. Comfortability (seats and driving position) as well as smoothness is for the BRZ / FRS. From my reading as well, one of the biggest gripes about the 370z is road noise. You can hear every puddle and bump you hit. Do you think there a ways to fix with without adding tons of weight ? Sound deadening ?

I like the 370z also because, let's be honest, how many do you see driving on the road? Barely any. Now, this could be a bad thing as it could represent a bad car, but I don't know if that is the case with the Z. I always see BRZ and FRS. Idk. Waiting to call insurance on Monday to see how much the difference would be from my G to Z.

I found a 2010 Nismo 370z for 15 grand. But it's salvaged so no thanks

What about the Mustang with the ecoboost 4? It slots nicely in between the V6 and V8, and you could always tune it for more power

Yeah they hold their value like crazy, may as well buy new with those cars. It's not a popular suggestion on this board at all, but have you looked at a Genesis coupe? 348hp v6, Brembo brakes, proper LSD, nicer interior than a 370 (arguable) and likely a bunch cheaper. Not a ton of aftermarket for it though. You likely wouldn't be able to make a huge change to the NVH of the 370 without a bunch of weight and money unfortunately.

Well that's the funny thing. I came in there with the intent of driving a WRX but they didn't have any manual ones on the lot i could try out so they got the STI out instead. I still want to try a WRX though.

@lego looked at that one. I feel like personally, if I was going to get an American sports car, I would need a v8. Shiet I tried to get the deepest bass / rumble on my G to sound like a cammed v8 but it's just not possible. But I can say ark + z1 HFC is pretty deep. Some pops and gurgles like a v8 rarely. But yeah I think I'm still at a 370 / G37over the Ecoboost, but to others , the Ecoboost is a better value for sure. And I can see why with that mpg + power.

@epiphany plus you can't beat the boxer engine. Throw some UEL headers on there and every downshifts has crackles haha. But the 2011 or 2013+ got a new engine so no more crackles. But they are great cars for sure. As for Genesis, my friend owns a bolt on one and they are quick. Pretty quick. But the aftermarket support, as you said, is not great. Even on another car forum (for car audio) a mod said he passed on the 3.8 due to the lack of aftermarket support. Rather have a WRX or 370z over Genesis. But they are good cars for the money.

ill add WRX to the list as well. Shame Subaru didn't put a turbo on the BRZ like the WRX. Oh well.
