I don't think so personally. I think the shape is what makes it look a little higher from photos. In person it's just fine. There was another thread on here I had seen where someone had shortened their shifter. So that is doable also.

Online or at the dealer. The boot was on back order for quite sometime when I ordered.

This can be remedied. A member modded a GTR shifter to fit and shows how he went about shortening it. I'll post the link :

It's honestly not bad in person. Maybe a little higher.

Just did mine today...

Just made this switch today in my 2012 G37xS Sedan.

The hardest part of this mod was definitely getting the new boot to fit the native frame on the G. After I figured that out, however, it was smooth sailing.

Others have mentioned that the Q60s **** sits too high, but I’m not seeing that at all. I can’t see any difference in height, personally.
