Those of you with the factory deck lid spoiler, is it necessary to drill holes in the trunk? Or is 3M/Locktite double sided tape enough for a secure mount?

Yes, it is necessary to drill 2 holes in your trunk lid. Otherwise it will eventually come loose. Holes are needed on the far outside of the wing.

Btw, is your middle initial really H? and if so, what does it stand for?

Is it possible to repair the holes if the spoiler is removed?

And my middle name is actually Francis believe it or not.

Anything's possible but not sure why you would want to remove it. Holes can be filled but you'll likely need to re-paint the entire deck lid.

Here is the template for the holes for the factory spoiler

You can see the outer holes here.

I read where guys have said that there isn't a need to drill them and I can see the argument for not doing so.

In the end I decided that the Infiniti engineers know better than me and drilled the holes.

Measure twice cut once.

I like the look/shape of the ''Jdm carbon fiber spoiler'' but does anyone know where I can buy one already painted? It looks great on our cars I just want it to match my paint.
