Infiniti High Performance G - What Top 5 things would you want?

If Infiniti would have made a IS-F,M3, or C63 competitor out of the G (similar to the Eau Rouge concept but out of the G platform like they should have. What are the Top 3 changes you think it would have needed to compete or would have wanted?

I'll start off with my Top 5

1.) More power: TT/SC, bored/stroked engine like the 4.2Ls running around or M45/M56 V8
2.) Improved Suspension/Tires: beefier sways, strut tower bar, and upgraded spring/shock setup and some Michelin PSS
3.) Wider more aggressive body/wheels: Throw some carbon fiber ground effects, flared fenders, and maybe some GTR style hood vents.
4.) Improved Seats: More bolstering and lower seating position.
5.) Improved VDC Less intrusive VDC or one with three modes like Normal, sport, off

If only the G came from the factory a bit more aggressive with a bit more power it would be perfect, we can only dream though

Meet Layla // Christopher?s 600+HP Infiniti G37 Sedan. | StanceNation? // Form > Function I always though a factory version of this would have been perfect.

I want a G45
Front/rear suspension frequency of 1.5/1.7 Hz instead of the cushy 1.1 Hz of the G37
More serious front buckets

That's my three. Wait, is it top 3 or top 5?

Or maybe a G56

OEM lightweight forged wheels like the Nismo Z gets, 6 pot Brembos, and if AT equipped one that's on par w/ the BMW DCT.

Oh wait, you said 5 things, ok for the last two~
Torque, More Torque.

So you want a car that weighs the same as a Civic, while being larger, with all the luxury features, and 400+HP? I don't know where you'd think to find 700lb to remove in the car. An M3 weighs at ~3500lb, and you want the performance G to weigh in at ~2900lb?

Man, Brembo's are factory sport options on so many cars now, they can keep em. The Ackys are more brake than I'll ever need, and IMO look a bit less industrial than the Bremmys I'm happy with them

Somebody else mentioned the seats... IMO the Inf Sport seats are pretty darned good. Really comfortable, lots of lateral support. I imagine they could go lower for the OG-forehed-level-with-the-window look.

Some of the wish list I see here makes me inclined to agree with Arthur-Dent's antagonist (Slartibartfast) Maybe a Z would solve that.
A while back I a valet was getting my car and the dude complemented the luxury and sport of the G and said he owned a Z and really appreciated the extra trim and comfort in the G.
As a daily driver, It is quite a nice car.

OTHO, Apart from the bumpers, the ipl didn't bring nearly enough to the G. They don't have to strip it down, but I think the ipl should have brought in a 500HP drivetrain. I don't think a Cadillac wagon should have a bigger engine than an ipl. Inf should have a car that can go toe-to-toe with an M5 or RS5...

Of course then it wouldn't be such an affordable luxury sports car would it.

With that in mind... Heck I LOVE my G!

I think something like a G56 is what we're looking for...
  • 5.6L NA Nissan V8
  • Function vents/brake ducts
  • Factory diffuser with quad tips
  • Aggressive body kit
  • DCT/6MT
  • Thicker steering wheel, sporty guages
  • Upgraded suspension, incuding NISMO strut tower brace
  • Lightweight wheels
  • Replace VLSD with mechanical LSD
  • Weighs less than 3,800lb

I did say the six pot Brembos, not those boat anchors on the SRTs, etc. The narrow 6 pots are so much easier to clear, and although the Akebonos are a solid BBK, they are way too bloated.

I really think all infiniti had to do to really knock the g out of the park was take a sport model and bump engine displacement to 4.0 like the frontier has and possibly go direct injection. They probably could crank out another 50-100 whp and some torque to boot. For the money the g is a pretty damn good car but definitely lacking in power. The transmission should be a dual clutch though and shift more sporty.

I'm not in the market for a $100K car so a V8 or a 4 door GTR is not what I want.
1. Smaller. My dream is a 135i size 4 door.
2. Lighter with a target of no more than 3200lbs.
3. Turbo 4 cylinder. Target 350HP. It should still be mounted north-south too.
4. RWD still but stiffen up the rear diff so it eliminates wheel hop.
5. 6 speed manual or DCT. No slushbox option.
