I have a 2012 Infiniti g37 and there is a loud rattle kind of loose sound coming from between the engine and transmission and it only rattles at idle has any one had this problem before? Here is a sound clip of the problem

Any mods, that may be a cause for the rattle?

 

I have a short rattle once in a while, usually when accelerating gently at low speed. It only happens once a day or even less frequently.

 

It might be your cats. The cats will still function properly, it's just that the substrate inside of them is loose and rattles.

Is your car still under warranty? Take it to the dealer and have them look at it.

Holy crap, I have the exact same problem. Taking it in this weekend. Assumption was something with the cat, but we'll see.

 

It's the cats. mine makes the same stupid noise as well and has for a while.

 

Either the cats or the heat shields over the cats.

 

if it's under powertrain warranty make sure fix it before expiration
