Megan racing Y pipe questions!

Thanks for input/advice. So I recently purchased a 2008 G35S with the VQ35HR motor/G37 body. I have been looking into some upgrades and I stumbled upon the Megan Racing Y pipe and I have a few questions..

How will this sound on an otherwise stock exhaust? (Axleback will come in due time)

Will this trip the CEL?

Does this require the cats to be removed?

If not, will this cause fitment with Berk HFC's?

When I decide to throw on an axleback will it cause issues?

Am I asking too many questions?

Honestly a big reason for this was that it is about 160 bucks and I can install it myself. I am not looking for monumental power gains, more just a nice note.

Thanks again!

It will sound a little deeper but won't do much. It does no require the cats to be removed. It will work with any HFC or axleback you get, but the midpipe will still be stock in that case which removes the point of getting a y pipe.

Ah, and from quick research it would make more monetary sense for now to just suck it up and get the axleback and work from there. Thank you for the reply!

+1... If you're on a tight budget, just start at the axle back and if the sound is suffice, then you're good. If not and you need more sound, then you can plan out accordingly. keep looking at the classifieds to help keep costs low. Good luck.

Yeah, get a full catback or an axleback. Once you get the axleback you can replace parts futher upstream if you want later.
