Question regarding Nismo springs. Why are you planning on doing pre 2016 springs, what is the benefit? Do you have any pictures of anyone running the Nismo springs? Any idea how different the spring rates are?
The pre 2015 springs are stiffer than the newer Nismo springs and since the G is heavier than the Z, it would be better to use the stiffer springs when comparing it to my stock sport suspension. From what I researched, I have just seen comments saying it should be about a .5" drop compared to the sport suspension. Another reason to get these springs is so I don't have to worry about swapping my LCAs or anything since it's just a mild drop. And the price is pretty good on used nismo springs.
EDIT: Correction, it's pre-2015 nismo springs, my bad! The pre-2015 are red colored and 2015+ are black.

I'm considering the NISMO springs too, but... buying used springs probably not. I mean, the reason I want to replace my sport springs is that they're worn down a bit, right? So buying someone else's worn out springs seems no bueno. I need to see how much new ones are from Nissan - I doubt they're as expensive as coilovers.

Lol yeah, it's pretty tight! It looks like a few mm which I think is the bare minimum amount of space needed to be safe. I'll just monitor it though and if I see any rub marks then I'll have to get some 3mm spacers or something.. not a big deal.

Yes, you can buy just the springs- they do not come as a "pre-installed" set with the shock. I looked into this a while back when I was looking into options for my Coupe. For the pre-2015, "RED" Nismo springs:

For the NISMO springs I honestly do not remember. I was looking into this project some time last year, but got side-tracked with the heated wheel/paddle shifter swap project...

Oddly enough, there was a full set from a 2014 Nismo Z w/ 41k miles on eBay for less than one rear spring right as we were discussing this. Guess I'll try used after all.
Topic-relevant content - yesterday I installed the rear Hotchkis bar, which required removing the FI mufflers. Still looking good. Checked wheels to see if I had different rears (coupe v convertible) and checked hubs relative to bodywork to see if that was an issue (chasing the quirky alignment). Patched a rear tire that had collected a screw. Today I cleaned and started painting the rear calipers - cheap caliper paint and painting on the car, so not expecting grand results, but... I did the fronts this way about a year ago and they still look really good.

I'll have a stock set of Sport bars to sell shortly - I don't see the point of holding on to them.
Thought about cleaning the engine bay of my latest acquisition I bought yesterday (2011 G37 Sedan). PO kept the car in great shape and maintained it well, but the engine bay was filthy.
Pulled out a rag and Purple Power and got to it, but didn’t get too far. Was wiping down the coolant expansion tank and without using too much force my finger broke through the plastc. LOL! That stuff was very brittle all over, actually. Was able,to pick up a replacement from local dealer (Grubbs in Grapevine, TX) for 85 bucks, so not a biggie.
